Interested in Becoming a Perquimans County School Bus Driver?
In order to become a School Bus Driver in North Carolina, an individual needs to be at least 18 years old, have at least six months of driving experience, have a current School Bus Driver's Certificate (Pocket Card) and hold a CDL with "P" and "S" endorsements.
To obtain a School Bus Driver's Certificate (Pocket Card) with appropriate endorsements, an individual must have a good driving record, attend a 3 Day Bus Driver Training Class, pass all tests, pass a drug test, obtain a DOT Physical & CDL Permit, then train 4 days behind the wheel of a School Bus and pass a skills test at the end of the training.

Perquimans County Schools will be hosting a School Bus Driver Training Class, May 11 - 13, 2026 from 8:30 am - 3:00 pm each day at the Perquimans County Schools Central Office, 411 S Edenton Road St, Hertford NC, NC. Perquimans County Schools Bus Drivers Honored for Perfect Attendance

Angela Hedgepeth and Amber Jacobs (not pictured) were recently recognized at the June 26, 2024 Perquimans County Schools Board Meeting for having Perfect Attendance every month during the 2023 - 2024 School Year. Both ladies are dedicated to making sure their students are transported to school safely each day.
Perquimans County Schools Transportation Staff Attend Annual NCPTA Conference
Julie Williams, Robert Pelech & Aaron Morris attended the 2024 North Carolina Pupil Transportation Association Conference June 17-20, 2024 in Asheville, NC. The three attended classes and professional development training events in order to learn, renew & refresh skills regarding Pupil Transportation.
Annual Transportation Orientation & Safety Training
Perquimans County Schools Transportation Department held their Annual Bus Driver/Monitor Orientation & Safety Training, Thursday, August 17, 2023. Drivers, Monitors & Substitutes received training on Building Positive Relationships with Eulanda Thorne, MS, Program Manager for the NC Center for Resilience & Learning Public School Forum of NC.
