Testing & Accountability
The Perquimans County Office of Testing and Accountability will impact student achievement by providing accurate and timely information as well as research and resources to facilitate data-informed decisions in order to improving teaching and learning. The office will also facilitate district-wide administration, training, and planning for state and federally mandated testing. These assessments include the End-of-Grade (EOG) English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics assessments in grades 3-8, as well as the End-of-Grade (EOG) Science assessment in grades 5 and 8. Grade 8 students are also administered the ACT EXPLORE Assessment. For high school, these assessments include the End-of-Course (EOC) assessments in English II, Math I, and Biology, as well as the ACT; the PreACT, and ACT WorkKeys Assessments. Based on their educational needs, alternate assessments are also available for students with disabilities as identified through the Exceptional Children’s (EC) program.
